ShoreTel is now part of Mitel

On September 25th 2017, leading business communications solutions provider Mitel announced the completion of the acquisition of ShoreTel. This acquisition means that Mitel is now the second largest provider of Unified Communications-as-a-Service in the world. ShoreTel’s vast experience in the hosted communications space will bolster the expertise already available within Mitel’s team. In turn, this will improve the capability of the Mitel Group as a whole when delivering first-class business unified communications solutions to its customers.

What does this mean for existing ShoreTel Customers?

If you’re an existing ShoreTel Customer through Prodec or otherwise, the acquisition of ShoreTel by Mitel won’t have a negative effect on your communications estate. The ShoreTel portfolio is, and will be, still readily available exactly as it is now. The only change that customers might see is a rebranding of any Connect software from ShoreTel to Mitel, however the underlying software will not change and you can expect the same excellent quality of service as you’re used to having.
